Uplift Partners With Hope for Afghan Women To Empower Women

Our micro-grant program at Uplift is essential because it gives us the opportunity to provide funding to local non-profit organizations that focus on the economic empowerment of women in Afghanistan.

Pictured is one of the women who took part in a self-employment training workshop funded by Uplift and organized and implemented by our partner organization, Hope for Afghan Women. The goal of this project was to give Afghan women the tools to independently make their own income. The women who participated were educated on all facets of self-employment before being provided with the necessary resources to begin their entrepreneurial journey.

The women involved have reported a steady flow of income between 180 and 650 AFN per day since receiving training and merchandise carts.
