This month we celebrate the third anniversary of the founding of Uplift Afghanistan Fund. Your unwavering support over the last three years has allowed us to carry out our mission to reimagine aid work through projects ranging from mental health to cultural preservation, girls’ education, women’s economic empowerment, and so much more—all led by the local communities we serve.

At Uplift, we are driven by a deeply rooted connection to our homeland, which lies at the core of a rich culture stretching back thousands of years. Traditions, practices, stories, values, language, and artistry compose the rich tapestry of Afghan cultural heritage—the preservation of which is integral to the success and strength of any thriving nation. Our work aims to build a more sustainable and equitable Afghanistan to honor generations of Afghans past, present, and future.

Because our work is rooted in this idea of honoring homeland by working alongside communities who set the agenda for their local needs, each project you help us fund strengthens these ideals further and pushes us closer to our shared mission.

On our anniversary this year, we are proud to share with you our 2023 Impact Report, which outlines the incredible achievements we have made together. In 2023, we raised a total of $1.36M, directly impacting the lives of 43,000 people across 20 provinces through community-led projects, 92% of which were women-led and/or women-focused.

Thank you for your commitment to working toward a future where all communities can thrive on their own terms, empowered by their unique strengths and united by a shared humanity. Your trust and support have been instrumental in driving our mission forward, highlighting the profound difference we can make together.

As you read our 2023 Impact Report, you will see that your ongoing support holds the potential to foster generational change in Afghanistan—transforming lives and communities for years to come.
